AWARENESS SEMINAR TO ELIMINATE SICKLE
CELL ANAEMIA
Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, under 5 Haryana Battalion NCC, Gurugram organized
an awareness seminar on "The National Mission to Eliminate Sickle Cell Anaemia"
for the NCC cadets as a part of their commitment to holistic health education
and community service. The seminar aimed to sensitize the cadets about the
causes, symptoms, prevention, and management of this genetic blood disorder
that predominantly affects certain populations in India.
The resource person highlighted the importance of early
diagnosis, regular health check-ups, and the role of lifestyle and nutrition in
managing the condition. The cadets actively participated by raising pertinent
questions and pledging to spread awareness in their communities. This
initiative not only enhanced their understanding of public health issues but
also strengthened their sense of social responsibility as future leaders and
changemakers.
This program aligned with NCC’s vision of grooming cadets
into aware and responsible citizens who contribute positively to
nation-building.
