A two-day Career Confluence was organized in Blue Bells Model School, Sec-4 on 9th and 10th of October under the able guidance and patronage of Dr. Alka Saxena, Asst. Director-Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of schools.
Day 1: 9th October, 14 : Day 1 of the confluence consisted of enlightening sessions for the students of classes 9th to 12th. The programme started with the lighting of ceremonial diya and welcome address of the Principal, Mrs. Chandan Dhawan. The speakers wee welcomed with the presentation of Eco friendly bouquets. Dr. Alka Saxena addressed the congregation emphasizing on the need of the guidance and support of the parents in choosing the right career
Mr. Jitin Chawla, Director of the Center for Career Development, who is an eminent educationist & career counselor, delivered a lively session on stream selection for the students of classes 9th & 10th. Mr. Chawla has been doing a number of shows on NDTV, DD, CNN etc. . He also writes for various newspapers and magazines. Mr. Chawla acquainted the students of classes 11th & 12th with emerging Science careers and misconceptions regarding careers. He also updated the students about the plethora of courses and institutions available. He suggested that students should also explore the unconventional careers. He also apprised the students of the recent changes in Delhi University.
Other eminent speakers of the day were Mr. Sanjay Saxena, Mr. Deepankar, Mr. Karan Verma and Ms. Ritu. The students were guided on career options in Hospitality, Management and creative careers.
Day 2 :10th October 2014: Day 2 of the confluence was meant for the orientation of the parents of students from classes 9th to 12th by eminent psychologist and counselor, Dr. Asha Nayyar. She presented a mesmerizing session on stream selection, effective career planning and career options. After the sessions Dr. Nayyar satisfied the career related queries of the parents.
The credit of the grand success of the Career Confluence goes to Dr. Alka Saxena whose vision and mission shaped this venture. The Confluence certainly achieved its objective with an overwhelming participation of students as well as parents.
